Winter raffle raises over £80,000 for St Giles Hospice
St Giles Hospice is delighted to announce its annual Winter Raffle has raised over £80,000 thanks to the generosity and support of the local community.
With over 60,000 tickets purchased, the raffle not only offered participants the chance to win a £5,000 jackpot but will also make a significant contribution to the hospice’s vital services.
All proceeds from ticket sales go directly towards funding end of life care for local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness.
Helen Curran, Individual Giving Manager at St Giles Hospice, thanked people who took part for their support.
Helen said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness of our supporters.
“By playing our Winter Raffle and making additional donations on top of their ticket purchases, the funds raised by our supporters will make a huge contribution towards funding specialist palliative and end of life care services for the local people we support.”

As well as the two raffles, St Giles Hospice also operates a weekly lottery to help cover the close to £10million it needs each year to provide care.
St Giles Hospice is a registered charity offering specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, for people living with terminal illnesses across Staffordshire, North Birmingham and surrounding areas.
With less than a quarter of funds provided by the Government, the hospice relies heavily on donations and income generation from the local community to continue providing vital care.
