Alison Beachim (New Outlook Housing Association), based in Birmingham, has been named a finalist in the Making a Difference category at this year’s Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards, which celebrates outstanding work across the UK’s not-for-profit care sector.

Now in its 12th year, the awards are organised by Care Management Matters (CMM) in partnership with the National Care Forum, recognising the dedication, innovation and positive impact in care services supporting children and adults.

The shortlisting recognises Alison Beachim (New Outlook Housing Association) for her leadership through a period of significant organisational change, bringing together a charity and housing association under a single, strengthened governance structure.

Her work has focused on improving outcomes for people with visual impairment, learning disabilities and tenants, strengthening governance and assurance, and maintaining strategic direction and stability through major change in personnel and service delivery. This has resulted in clearer accountability, stronger governance, and more resilient services that better support people to live independently and with dignity.
