The locally owned and run Specsavers stores in Cannock town centre and Cannock Voyager Sainsbury’s, have chosen Acorns as their charity of the year.

The teams have already received generous donations from local business and are now calling on customers and local residents to support the hospice, by donating new art materials including pens, pencils, paints, canvases and craft items. The Specsavers teams will be making their first delivery to the hospice in March, with a second planned for later in the year.

These supplies will then be used by the charity’s care team to create personalised keepsakes, including handprints, artwork and memory crafts. These cherished items will offer families something tangible and meaningful to hold onto during incredibly difficult times.

"Acorns Children’s Hospice is an extraordinary charity, providing essential care and comfort to both children and their families," comments Specsavers Cannock and Cannock Voyager store director, Jaspreet Dhaliwal. "When we heard how important these creative activities and keepsakes are for the families they support, we knew we wanted to do everything we could to help."

"We’re really grateful for the generosity shown by our team already," continues Jaspreet. "We hope that our wonderful wider community will join us in offering support. Even a small item, such as a pack of pencils or a pot of paint, will help families create something that they will treasure forever."

Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for children with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions, along with holistic support for families. Creative and memory‑making activities form a vital part of this work, offering families moments of connection, comfort and lasting memories.
