Walsall opticians celebrates success during National Apprenticeship Week
A Walsall opticians is celebrating the achievements of two apprentices who have both completed their studies with distinction grades, marking a double celebration for the team during National Apprenticeship Week.
Specsavers on Park Street, which is locally owned and run, is recognising Harjeevan Takhar, who joined the store’s apprenticeship program in May 2023 and fellow apprentice, Madaniyah Saleem, who have both passed their Level 3 optical assistant apprenticeships with a distinction.
To mark the achievement, store directors surprised both Harjeevan and Madaniyah with gifts and treats to thank them for their hard work, commitment and positive contribution to the team.

"We’re incredibly proud of both Harjeevan and Madaniyah," comments Specsavers Walsall store director, Justine Page. "Achieving a distinction shows immense dedication, professionalism and passion for delivering great customer care.
"Apprenticeships are such an important part of how we develop and grow talent and it’s wonderful to see our apprentices thrive and begin their careers with such strong success. A huge congratulations to both!"

The Specsavers apprenticeship programme enables people to earn while they learn, combining practical in‑store experience with structured training. Many apprentices go on to secure long‑term careers in optics, whether in customer service, clinical support or progression to further qualifications.
National Apprenticeship Week, which takes place annually across the UK, celebrates the value, impact and opportunities that apprenticeships provide for both learners and employers.
