PSG Academy West Midlands students experience the passion of Paris in London
It was a day of cultural immersion, VIP treatment, and sporting passion for the students of PSG Academy West Midlands, as they travelled to the capital on Friday, February 13, for the exclusive 'Ici C'est Paris' (ICP) La Maison event.
The trip, organised by the PSG Academy team, offered the young players from Amethyst Sixth Form a rare glimpse into the global lifestyle of Paris Saint-Germain. From the moment they arrived, the students were exposed to the "cultural capital" that defines the club, a blend of high fashion, art, and elite sport.
Manager Mr Spicer described the atmosphere as "unbelievable," noting that the experience provided lessons that went far beyond the football pitch.

Before the football took centre stage, the players explored the ICP Maison, where the worlds of sport and art collided. A particular highlight was the London Sneaker School showcase. The students watched artists at work, seeing firsthand how the creativity of street culture intertwines with the identity of a modern football brand. It was a moment of inspiration, showing the players the diverse career pathways and creative opportunities that exist within the sports industry.
The pinnacle of the day came in the evening. In what Mr Spicer described as an "unreal" experience, the academy players were guided to reserved VIP seats at an exclusive, invite-only screening of the PSG vs Rennes match on the big screen.

"The lads were treated like royalty," Mr Spicer said. "To be guided to our seats and hosted by the PSG Academy team was incredible. We can't thank them enough for the opportunity. It really showed the boys what it means to be part of a club with this level of stature."

Student Rithik summed up the sentiment of the group: "I just wanted to genuinely say thank you for the opportunity. It does mean a lot to me and it doesn't go unnoticed. I had a great experience and I'm more than grateful."
While the match ended in a tough 3-1 defeat for PSG against Rennes, the result did nothing to dampen the camaraderie of the trip. In fact, witnessing the passion of the fans even in defeat was a lesson in loyalty and support.
Following the match, the players unwound with a friendly game of darts against PSG supporters, a chance to build connections beyond the academy and bond over some relaxed competition.

"Even though the result on the pitch wasn't what we wanted, the day itself was a massive win for the academy," Mr Spicer added. "The exposure to this environment, the opportunities they gained, and the way they bonded as a team, that is what this programme is all about."
The trip marks another milestone for the PSG Academy West Midlands, cementing its reputation at Amethyst Sixth Form as a place where education, elite training, and life-changing experiences go hand in hand.
