It’s Gandalf! Staffordshire homebuilder supports charity’s mascot naming competition
A housebuilder has donated £500 to the creative wellbeing charity, Make Some Noise, to support its recent mascot naming competition.
The competition, supported by David Wilson Homes, was set to name the giraffe which appears in the charity's marketing materials. After much deliberation, the members of Make Some Noise decided on the winning name, Gandalf.
Nigel Senior, Chair of the Board of Trustees for Make Some Noise, said: “We are delighted to work alongside David Wilson Homes to offer this joyful opportunity to Stafford’s Armed Forces children.
“It is a wonderful way to support their creativity and wellbeing while recognising the sacrifices their families make.”

Make Some Noise is an award-winning creative wellbeing charity and has engaged with over 100,000 children and young people. It delivers inclusive creative and musical opportunities, allowing those it supports to unlock their extraordinary potential.

Working within local communities, Make Some Noise helps some of society’s most disadvantaged children and young people who are experiencing poverty, dealing with mental health issues and suffering from loneliness, isolation and trauma.
Helen Lewis, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We are delighted to support this wonderful charity and help its efforts to provide support for the vulnerable children and young people of Staffordshire.

“Gandalf is a wonderful name for the Make Some Noise mascot, and we are very excited to see more of him as time goes on. We encourage anyone interested in finding out more about this charity to reach out.”
