Stourbridge dance instructor celebrates one month of confidence, community and movement
A Stourbridge dance fitness instructor is celebrating one month in her brand-new boutique dance studio and the local community response has been incredible. Yasmin, founder of Twisted Funky Moves, recently opened her own dedicated space in Stourbridge inside Base Studios, creating a new home for her growing timetable of women’s dance fitness classes in the West Midlands.
After a year of hiring various spaces across Stourbridge and Kingswinford, the move marks a major milestone for the local small business owner, whose mission is simple: Every Body is a Dancing Body.
The new studio now hosts weekly dance fitness classes in Stourbridge including high-energy Vibe’Cize sessions, Rise & Slay early morning workouts, Step in Line - Funky line dancing classes, Carnival-inspired dance fitness, and Golden Groovers a low-impact dance fitness class designed especially for older adults and care settings.
“In just four weeks, this space has already held so much magic,” Yasmin said.

“We’ve had women walk into class nervous and leave glowing. We’ve had laughter echoing off the walls. We’ve had people reconnect with their confidence through movement.”
Twisted Funky Moves has built a reputation locally for inclusive dance classes where ability, size and experience don’t matter. The focus is on confidence over choreography, community over comparison, and movement that feels joyful rather than intimidating.
The Stourbridge dance studio offers PAYG fitness classes, themed dance workshops and specialist sessions designed to make fitness more accessible and enjoyable for women of all ages across the West Midlands.

“For me, this isn’t just a fitness studio,” Yasmin added.
“It’s a confidence factory! It’s a space where women can take up space, move without judgement, and feel supported.”
With classes already filling and new members joining each week, the first month has exceeded expectations. Plans are underway for more monthly workshops, community events and further growth in 2026, including the launch of children’s dance fitness classes and holiday craft and dance workshops in Stourbridge later this month !

As Twisted Funky Moves enters its second month in its new Stourbridge home, Yasmin says she is excited for what’s ahead:
“This is only the beginning. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported a local, female-led business and helped turn this dream into reality.”
