Held on Friday, February 6, in the Mayor’s Parlour, the event brought together 24 teams from across the city.

The evening was hosted by the Mayor, Councillor Craig Collingswood, with popular local radio personality Dicky Dodd serving as quiz master, keeping the crowd entertained throughout.

All funds raised will benefit the Mayor’s chosen charities for the year: Compton Care, Acorns Children’s Hospice, SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.

The Mayor praised the generosity of those who attended and the local businesses who lent their support. The Island House restaurant supplied traditional fish and chips for all guests, while Cosmo Restaurant donated a prize of a meal for four people. Cosmo’s owner, Mr Kan Koo, also joined the evening in person, handing out fortune cookies and sweets to participants.

Additional thanks were extended to Kashmir Sweet Centre and the University of Wolverhampton at The Halls for their contributions to the night’s success.

Mayor Collingswood said the money raised will form an important part of his final fundraising total when he leaves office in May.

He added: “The generosity shown by everyone who attended and supported the event is truly heart‑warming. It was a fantastic night that brought people together for great causes, and I’m incredibly grateful to all who made it possible.”
