Ryan is taking part in the Winter Run in order to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, and so far has raised over five hundred pounds for the charity.

Ryan was severely ill just two years ago, and running was something he didn't think would be possible for him again, but he is now using it as a way to help others, and is using his poetry to help spread the message too - he has written and performed a poem with some key statistics about cancer, and the work done by Cancer Research UK, and has also hosted a fundraiser open mic that raised over one hundred pounds in one night.

Cancer Research UK committed 419 million pounds to research towards the fight against cancer in the year 2024-2025, and much of this money came from fundraising events promoting smaller donations that quickly added up, proving that the smaller gestures really do make a difference. For example, the Winter Run event has, at the time of writing, raised over £500,000!

As cancer currently affects around 1 in 2 people, Ryan feels that it is a cause that shouldn't be left to charity, but he is more than happy to do what he can to help those who are helping everyone.
