The 2026 charity showdown will see all colleagues at the locally owned and run Specsavers stores in Kidderminster, Kidderminster Crossley, Stourport and Droitwich split into charity teams and take part in a series of fun challenges, friendly competitions and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Staff will be raising funds for four charities that support health, wellbeing and independence both locally and nationally:

  • Acorns Children’s Hospice; providing care for children and families across the West Midlands

  • Mind; supporting mental health

  • Pancreatic Cancer UK; funding research and support services

  • Guide Dogs; helping people with sight loss live the life they choose

To encourage everyone to get involved, teams will earn points (and funds) in a variety of ways, including events, in-store challenges and customer engagement activities.

One innovative element of the challenge links fundraising directly to customer care. Every time a team member receives a customer feedback score of 9 or 10 with their name mentioned in the review, £1 will be donated directly to their chosen charity, reinforcing the connection between great service and giving back.

On getting the showdown underway, store director at all four of the sister stores, Emma Singh, says: "The aim is not only to raise as much money as possible, but also to bring colleagues together, boost morale and make a positive difference to the communities we serve.

"Throughout 2026, customers visiting the Droitwich, Kidderminster, Kidderminster Crossley and Stourport stores can expect to see a range of fundraising activities taking place, with opportunities to get involved and support the charities along the way."
