Kingswinford salon marks 18th anniversary with special makeover
Styles by Mel, founded by Mel Owen, celebrates its 18th anniversary by refurbishing the shop ahead of the huge milestone.
On February 18, local community champion Mel will celebrate 18 glorious years of Styles by Mel, based in Kingswinford.
Mel left school and started her apprenticeship at the age of 16. She did her apprenticeship in Stourbridge.
She then qualified and continued to work in Stourbridge before relocating to Norton and working her way up to management level.
At the age of 25 Mel decided it was time to go it alone and took the plunge and opened up Styles by Mel where she has continued to grow and become an asset to Kingswinford.
Her charming salon is situated on Park Street, just off the main High Street of Kingswinford.
Mel said: "I take pride in my work and ensure all clients leave feeling happy and refreshed.
"We are also part of the wedding industry where we offer bespoke wedding packages. So if I'm not in the salon I'm travelling to somewhere in the midlands offering bridal hair."
High Sheriff Award winner Shaz Saleem said: "I'm very honoured to meet the very talented Mel and her team at Styles by Mel Kingswinford as they are celebrate 18 years of service.
