Empowering women in cricket: Maiden Cricket launches ambassador hunt in Midlands
Following a hugely successful year, pioneering female sportswear brand, Maiden Cricket, is on the lookout for brand ambassadors in the Midlands to help drive the future of women’s cricket and empower at every level of the sport.
The Maiden Ambassador Programme champions female players who are passionate about promoting inclusiveness and growing girls’ cricket in schools, universities, clubs and counties across the UK and further afield.
Specifically designed for female cricketers, Maiden Cricket was launched in 2024 by teenage sisters, Honor and Cat Black. Fed up of wearing uncomfortable and ill-fitting cricket gear made solely for boys, the sisters set out to design stylish, comfortable and functional clothing that complements the female body and moves freely with the player.
After firmly establishing itself as a brand known for its quality, inclusivity and performance, Maiden Cricket’s success to date has seen the company launch its fully customisable teamwear range and enter into exciting partnerships, including its work with Cricket Wales.

Cricket players, coaches and mentors of all ages are encouraged to apply via the official website. Maiden run a Rising Stars programme for up-and-coming players aged 8-18, as well as a Heroes programme for anyone aged 18 and over with a passion for the sport. The company currently has 180 ambassadors on board with ambitious plans to grow to over 300 by the end of 2026.
Honor Black, founder at Maiden Cricket, said: “At Maiden, we firmly believe that cricket is for everyone and our mission has always been to create a more inclusive game and make a real difference for players of all levels. We empower female players by offering kit and clothing that fits properly, performs well, and represents them. So many girls are put off taking part in sports because of the nature of the clothes they have to wear - that’s a huge talent pool our sport is missing out on, and we’re helping to turn the tables.
“We’re excited to continue building our hugely successful Ambassador Programme by uniting like-minded cricket players, coaches and mentors who are passionate about promoting diversity and inclusivity, both on and off the cricket field. We can’t wait to hear from the inspirational voices that make female cricket what it is!”
