New children’s book ‘Zip the Zebra’ to be read aloud at local libraries
Shoshanna Clay will be reading from her new children’s book ‘Zip the Zebra: Finding Zip’s Zoom’ at Dudley Library on Wednesday, February 19 at 2pm and Stourbridge Library on Thursday, February 20 at 2pm.
Based in the West Midlands, Shoshanna is a psychotherapist, author and illustrator who has a background in youth work and expertise in trauma and attachment. Inspired by childhood favourites like The Cat in the Hat and Where the Wild Things Are, she blends creative writing with therapeutic practice to help children explore big emotions.
“Alongside my therapy work, I’m a children’s author and illustrator, and the creator of The Kind Creatures Collection — a series of heart-warming stories that help children explore emotions, kindness, and wellbeing through playful characters and gentle, evidence-based ideas,” says Shoshanna.

“My first book Finding Zip’s Zoom introduces Zip the Zebra, a lovable character on a gentle adventure to rediscover their spark.”

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Dudley libraries on behalf of the council.
“Both events are free and take place in half term,” says librarian Clare Williams. “Shoshanna’s passion is storytelling, using the written and spoken word to express meaning and build connection.

“She’s done readings in some of our other libraries, and they’ve proved very popular. Booking is therefore highly recommended.”
