This strategic move takes the group’s turnover to beyond £50m, its direct employee headcount to more than 300, and will extend its offering into new sectors including petro-chemical and bulk storage.

UEC’s highly skilled team of 80 plus employees operates from a facility in Immingham and is strategically located at the entrance to the South Humber Bank industrial cluster. The company is recognised for its expertise in supporting petro-chemical shutdowns, site operations, maintenance and major overhauls, as well as its dedicated storage tank division.

The organisation sits at the heart of the UK’s largest CO2-emitting industrial district, and is central to the UK’s industrial decarbonisation plans, including Zero Carbon Humber and Viking CCS. The business is well-placed to support customers as £6m investment to the area aims to accelerate the achievement of net zero by 2040.

This acquisition is another step forward for the Ropsley Group’s continued growth, following the acquisition of historic boiler firm, Green’s Power, HEGS plate heat exchanger services and welding, fabrication, and piping company, Piper Services in 2024.

David Hayle, CEO at Ropsley Ltd, said: “With its long-standing, well-earned reputation on the Humber Bank, and the net-zero opportunities that the future could present in the region, we have been following UEC for many years and are delighted that they are now joining the Group.

“We’re looking forward to benefitting from the company’s knowledge and expertise to extend into new sectors and adding to our long list of blue-chip clients.”

Dave McIntyre, General Manager at UEC, added: “We are excited to be joining the Ropsley group and are very much looking forward to bringing our skills to one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing engineering groups.”
