Senior business leaders encouraged to sign up for peer-based learning programme
A development programme for senior business executives has been launched by an experienced Staffordshire-based company leader whose career includes top roles at leading food brands and lottery operator Camelot.
Duncan Malyon, who has held high level management roles for Kraft Foods, Molson Coors and dairy producer Arla Foods, has set up a Birmingham and Staffordshire cohort of Vistage, the world’s largest executive coaching organisation for small and medium sized businesses.
Duncan will be drawing upon his career in international business to lead ambitious managing directors and CEOs through a peer-based development schedule, giving them the opportunity to work collaboratively with like-minded executives.
Through the Vistage programme business decision makers meet in a confidential peer advisory group once a month to work on challenges and opportunities with high-calibre executives from non-competing organisations, providing a forum to shape solutions to key challenges.
Participants will benefit from one to one coaching sessions with Duncan who will also operate as the group’s executive mentor, guiding discussions, exploring opportunities and processing issues.
Other benefits include workshops led by expert speakers which aim to encourage innovative approaches, as well as access to the latest business research, connections to business leaders globally through the Vistage network, and opportunities to attend national events.

Duncan is keen to draw upon his experience to support the development of company leaders in Birmingham and Staffordshire, having lived near Stafford for nearly 25 years.
After starting his career with Kraft Foods, Duncan worked for Burton on Trent-based Bass Brewers, now Molson Coors Brewing, where he was managing director of the online business.
At Camelot, the former operator of the National Lottery, Duncan held a number of positions including retail director and managing director of the North American business, followed by a spell at Arla Foods, where he was senior vice president. Most recently he was director of Topian, the NEOM Food Company group, based in Saudi Arabia.
He says: “Staffordshire has been my home since 2002 so having enjoyed a rewarding executive career, I am keen to draw upon my experience to help managing directors and CEOs fulfil their ambitions in the wider region.
“The Vistage programme is a great vehicle for business owners and those running companies, so I am looking for high level achievers, who want the insights and support to achieve more success, both personally and for the companies that they lead.
“They will have the chance to learn best practices on building an empowered, results-driven team while fixing blind spots to advance their leadership ability. Doing this will help them to grow the performance and the value of their business.”
With the current intake being finalised, there are still opportunities to join the group with sessions beginning this spring. Vistage has more than 45,000 members in 35 countries.
