The partnership, which first began as a pilot scheme in autumn 2025, reflects the two businesses' shared commitment to environmental responsibility and to promoting inclusive opportunities for guests to explore the estate's rewilded gardens, woodlands and lakes.

Set within a 70-acre estate in Staffordshire’s Churnet Valley, The Tawny first opened in 2021 and is deeply rooted in sustainability, operating largely off-grid using locally sourced renewable energy while bringing to life the UK’s first deconstructed hotel concept.

The award-winning luxury hotel first introduced bikes to the estate in 2022 and has since become a seamless part of the guest experience, inviting leisurely exploration of the grounds, onsite farcicalities and nearby attractions. The addition of British-designed electric tricycles further enhances the opportunities to explore the wilds of the estate with comfort and ease. Both bikes and electric tricycles are free for all residents, with requests and demonstrations available to book via the hotel’s online booking system.

James Walker, Founder and Managing Director of Jorvik Tricycles, said: "This partnership is a real milestone for Jorvik Tricycles – the first of its kind and a meaningful step towards our mission of making cycling accessible for all. We’re thrilled to work with the team at The Tawny, offering more people the chance to experience the freedom and fun of electric tricycles in such a stunning setting.

“It’s a pleasure to partner with such a prestigious hotel and play a part in helping guests explore the estate. We hope this is the first of many partnerships."

Josh Chadwick, General Manager at The Tawny, added: “Since opening our doors in 2021, The Tawny Hotel has made sustainability central to everything we do. Expanding our existing cycling offering with two models from Jorvik Tricycles has been a really exciting milestone for us to offer our guests a new way of exploring the estate during their stay, allowing them total freedom while making sustainability and accessibility for all a priority. Already, we’ve received tremendously positive feedback from guests, who love the freedom the tricycles bring.”
