Acquisition secures future of 78-year-old engineering firm and 50 jobs
Burcas Ltd. has been acquired by Wright Industries, securing the future of the 78-year-old precision engineering business and safeguarding more than 50 highly skilled engineering jobs.
Based in Birmingham, Burcas has built a long-standing reputation for precision engineering excellence, supporting high-reliability industries including aerospace and defence. The acquisition reinforces Wright Industries’ commitment to strengthening UK supply chain resilience and protecting critical sovereign manufacturing capability at a time of increasing pressure on domestic engineering businesses.
Following the acquisition, Burcas will join the Connexion Technologies group, operating alongside Accura Engineering. The addition further strengthens the group’s mechanical manufacturing capability and expands its ability to support customers operating in regulated, mission-critical environments where quality, reliability and continuity of supply are essential.
Connexion Technologies is the UK’s largest independent provider of advanced electronic and mechanical solutions for high-reliability industries. The acquisition of Burcas enhances the group’s precision machining expertise while preserving a business with deep heritage, specialist skills and long-established customer relationships.

The transaction secures Burcas at a critical point in its history, ensuring continuity for customers and employees while enabling the business to move forward as part of a well-capitalised, UK-owned engineering group with a long-term investment strategy.
Commenting on the acquisition, Craig Wright, Chairman and CEO of Wright Industries, said: “This acquisition is about safeguarding sovereign manufacturing capability and protecting the skilled engineering jobs that underpin the UK’s high-reliability supply chains.
Burcas Ltd. is a highly respected business with a proud heritage and deep expertise in supporting aerospace and defence customers. Bringing Burcas into the Connexion Technologies group ensures stability, continued investment and a secure future for both the workforce and the customers who rely on its capabilities.”
Burcas will continue to operate from its Birmingham facility, supporting existing and future customers while benefiting from the scale, investment capacity and long-term ownership model of Wright Industries.
Wright Industries was advised on the transaction by Shoosmiths, with the deal led by Russ Hill, supported by Emily Davis, Principal Associate, and Eliza Patrascu, Paralegal.
