Staffordshire communities encouraged to try new local Nordic walking classes
People living with Parkinson’s in Lichfield and Tamworth are being encouraged to try new Nordic walking classes which are aiming to help more Staffordshire communities live well.
The sessions are being delivered by an experienced British Nordic Walking coach, with support from Parkinson’s UK.
Nordic walking can be a fun and social way to get active, as well as offering ways for participants to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Group classes and one-to-one sessions are also available, depending on individual preferences.
Nordic walking can help support better balance, coordination and muscle strength for people with Parkinson’s, among many other benefits.
No previous experience of Nordic walking is required, all ages and abilities are welcome and equipment, such as Nordic walking poles is provided by the instructor. Participants are advised to wear comfortable footwear which is suitable for outdoor walking, active clothing and to bring a bottle of water.
Bookings are essential and participants are advised to register sooner rather than later.
