The Skills for Security Careers Fair will take place on Thursday, March 26, from 9.30am to 1.30pm, at Birmingham City Football Club, bringing together employers, industry brands, students and those considering a career in the sector.

The focused half-day event is designed to address skills development and workforce progression within the fire and security industry. It will offer opportunities for local employers to engage directly with new and emerging talent, and for attendees to gain a clearer understanding of the career pathways available.

Says David Scott, Managing Director of Skills for Security: “When we launched the first Careers Fair, the response from both employers and attendees showed there was a real appetite for this kind of practical, face-to-face engagement. Bringing it back to Birmingham allows us to continue important conversations about skills, training and the future workforce, particularly here in the West Midlands.”

The event is open to employers from across the region who are looking to raise awareness of roles within their organisations, as well as those individuals interested in apprenticeships, training routes and long-term careers in fire and security. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with industry professionals and learn more about the support available to enter and progress within the sector.

By hosting the event in Birmingham, Skills for Security aims to reflect the city’s strong links to technical training, apprenticeships and engineering-based careers, while supporting local and regional workforce development.

David added: “Our focus is on creating access and understanding. The Careers Fair is intended to give people a clearer picture of the routes into the industry, while supporting employers who are planning for future skills needs.
