Annual print competition sees Wolverhampton photographers share their best work
Last Tuesday photographers from Tettenhall Wood Photographic Club enjoyed seeing each others work, when they put forward over 40 images for judging in the second round of their annual print competition.
There was stiff competition in the three sections as members presented some stunning images including portraits, travel, landscape and nature images and more. John Holt from Wolverhampton Photographic Club, who is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and holds Photographic Alliance of Great Britain Distinction, carried out the judging.
In the general section Martin Edwards images of ‘Hope we can find a seat Mary’ and ‘Hosepipe Ban’ were first and second; with ‘Poppy-lar Mike’ by Ray Dulai third. ‘Derwent Sunset’ by Mark Rock was highly commended and the commended images were ‘Barbados Jazz’ by John Gainham and ‘Riding the Apex’ by Mark Rock.

For the intermediate section the first placed image was ‘Red Kite’ by Trevor Swan, second was ‘The Smoker’ by Paul McKenzie and third was ‘Blackfriars Spiral’ by Delia Kingsbury. The highly commended images were ‘Pygmy Falcon’ by Paul McKenzie and ‘Gone Fishing’ by Roger Paxton. The commended images were ‘The Engineer’ by Trevor Swan, ‘Mr Soot’ by Kapoor Singh and ‘McLean over First’ and ‘Kaleidoscope’, both by Delia Kingsbury.

First and second places in the advanced section went to Paul Reynolds with ‘Teachers Pet’ and ‘Hitesh’, ‘Sorceress of Lies’ by Neil Kingsbury was given third place. The Highly Commended images were Michael Bulls’ ‘Fly Agaric Colony’ and ‘Water vole Feeding’ by Tony Davey. The commended images were ‘Joe’ and ‘Long Mynd Ponies’ both by John White, ‘Great Crested Grebe’ by Michael Bull and ‘Last Tango in Tettenhall’ by Tony Davey.
