Stafford hospice launches Firewalk fundraiser
A Stafford charity is inviting people to walk across hot embers to raise funds for hospice care.
Katharine House Hospice will host its all-new Firewalk on Friday, March 27, from 7pm at Stafford Rangers Football Club.
UK Firewalk will provide safety guidance and training on the night in line with national firewalking standards.
Scott Bell, UK Firewalk founder and twice Guinness World Record Holder for the greatest distance walked on fire, said: "We are thrilled to bring this unique event to Stafford.
“Firewalking is a powerful experience that challenges perceptions and unlocks untapped potential. It's about pushing boundaries and discovering what's possible when we confront our fears head-on."
Katharine House Hospice’s complementary therapist, Jocelyn Turner, said: “This challenge is a great reminder of how powerful mindset can be.
“Every day, we help patients and their loved ones find calm when life feels overwhelming. Taking on this challenge is a wonderful way to help us continue that support for local families.”
Lyndsey Howard, Community and Events Fundraiser, said: “Our all-new Firewalk is a bold and unforgettable way for people to support hospice care in Stafford.
“I am excited to launch the event and can’t wait to see our community step up and take on this challenge to make a real difference.
“Bring your family and friends to watch for free and enjoy the entertainment, food and drinks available throughout the evening.
“Every step taken will help us be there when families need us most, providing comfort, dignity and specialist care at some of the most difficult moments of their lives.”

People can register for £25 and commit to raising £100, with funds supporting locals living with incurable illness and their families. £100 could fund an hour of specialist care in the comfort of a person’s home.
Lyndsey added: “As a charity, we rely on the kindness and generosity of our community to help generate the funds needed to continue to care.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who signs up to take on this challenge for our charity.”
Each participant will receive a glass of fizz on arrival and a certificate, with an optional event T-shirt available to purchase.
Spaces are limited. Supporters have until 3 pm on Friday, March 20, to sign up to take part in the Firewalk and help light the way for local hospice care.
