Lorraine Chew, store supervisor at Specsavers Halesowen, has marked two decades working at the store in the Cornbow Shopping Centre. Since joining the team as a dispensing assistant in 2006, Lorraine has taken on many different roles, including hearcare champion, store charity events organiser and shop floor supervisor.

Reflecting on her time as part of the team Lorraine says: "I can hardly believe it’s been 20 years since I joined Specsavers Halesowen. In the early days we wrote prescriptions by hand and kept paper files behind reception! Seeing the way technology has changed how we care for our customers has been amazing."

Throughout her career, Lorraine has focused on professional growth, completing her Level 1 and 2 optical assistant qualifications alongside a specialist qualification in customer service. A particular highlight was running the store's emergency clinic during the pandemic, ensuring vital eye care remained available for those in urgent need.

"My favourite part of the job has always been the people," Lorraine adds. "Getting to know our community and being a friendly, familiar face for our customers is what makes the work so rewarding. Here’s to many more years of doing what I love!"

Nabil Habibullah, store director at Specsavers Halesowen, comments: "A huge congratulations to Lorraine for reaching this incredible milestone. Her commitment to the store, our colleagues and the community is second to none. I hope we’ll enjoy many more years working alongside each other."
