Wednesbury care home opens new dementia café for local community

Dovedale Court Care Home in Wednesbury is inviting local people to come together for conversation, companionship and support with the launch of its new Dementia Café.

The café will officially open on Wednesday, January 14, taking place at Dovedale Court Care Home, Holyhead Road, Wednesbury, WS10 7PZ, from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

Open to members of the local community, the Dementia Café aims to provide a relaxed and welcoming space for people living with dementia, their families, carers and friends to meet others, share experiences and enjoy a friendly chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

Following the grand opening, the Dementia Café will run every Wednesday between 10.30am and 12.30pm, offering regular opportunities for social connection and support in an informal setting.

Jody Sargent, Home Administrator at Dovedale Court Care Home said: “We’re really proud to be opening our Dementia Café and welcoming people from the local community into our home. We know how important it is for people living with dementia and their loved ones to feel supported, understood and connected. This café is about creating a friendly, relaxed space where people can enjoy a cuppa, have a chat and build meaningful connections.”

The team at Dovedale Court hopes the café will become a valued community hub, helping to reduce isolation and strengthen local connections while raising awareness and understanding of dementia.
