Rotary boost to Wyre Forest Community Transport
A charity providing vital transport services for Wyre Forest elderly and disabled people has received a £500 boost from Kidderminster and Stourport Rotary Club.
The donation will go towards maintaining and developing services run by Wyre Forest Community Transport (WFCT), enabling hundreds of people to enjoy independent lives free from loneliness and isolation.
Margaret Dudfield, Rotary Club president, said: “We raise thousands of pounds for charities and good causes every year and are delighted to be able to support WFCT.”
The charity offers door-to-door affordable transport using its fleet of wheelchair-accessible minibuses and volunteers’ cars, enabling people to attend medical appointments, social activities, trips to shops and to visit family and friends.

Glen Collins, WFCT chair, said: “We rely heavily on grants and donations to run our services and are indebted to Kidderminster and Stourport Rotarians for their most welcome donation.”
The charity, staffed mainly by volunteers, completes around 1,500 journeys a month with an annual social impact to society of more than £400,000.
