Students invited to explore post-16 opportunities at Shireland CBSO Sixth Form

Shireland CBSO Academy in West Bromwich is inviting prospective Sixth Form students and their families for another Post-16 Open Evening on Tuesday, January 27, from 4.30pm-6pm. This will include a Principal talk at 5pm.

Visitors will be able to tour the Academy, meet staff and students, and learn more about the A level and vocational pathways available for September 2026 entry. 

The Academy, recognised for its partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), has built a reputation for fostering a creative and progressive learning environment. Its approach supports students across all disciplines, strengthened by expert teaching and strong pastoral care to provide an exceptional learning experience. 

Learners benefit from facilities including dedicated performance spaces, a recording studio, practice rooms and specialist areas for art, design, sport and drama. Together, they provide a setting designed to inspire students and help them excel.

Partnerships with organisations including the CBSO and Laney Amplification offer mentoring, opportunities for work experience and specialist masterclasses, giving students early insight into the demands of higher education and the workplace.

Applications for September 2026 entry are now open through Applicaa, the Academy’s new online admission system, where students can apply and track their progress in real time.
