Stourbridge Library sees wood for the trees
Stourbridge Library is the venue for a free poetry session on January 15, that focuses on trees and woods.
Poets Simon Fletcher and Kuli Kohli have collaborated on a new anthology entitled Seeing the Trees and the Woods and published by Offa Press. Together with other local ‘tree poets’, they will share some of its poems.
“The valuable roles trees play in our lives, history and myth will be showcased in a wonderfully poetic hour,” said librarian Jodi Wray. “The event takes place from 3-4pm on Thursday, January 15, and is suitable for all. Entry is free.”

Operating under the Better brand, not-for-profit social enterprise GLL runs Stourbridge Library and other Dudley libraries on behalf of the council.
“National Year of Reading 2026 is all about encouraging children, young people and adults to read more and all our Dudley libraries will be holding free events like this to highlight the many benefits of diving into a good book,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager in Dudley.
“Simon Fletcher and Kuli Kohli are both well respected writers who will, I’m sure, inspire those attending to look at trees differently.”
Stourbridge Library is located in the Crown Centre, Stourbridge. For more information, call 01384 812945 or visit stourbridge.library@gll.org
