West Brom Building Society spreads festive cheer across region
West Brom Building Society branches across the West Midlands have been supporting local communities in the run up to Christmas by raising vital funds, donating essential items and giving their time to causes close to home.
From food bank collections and Christmas gift appeals to fundraising raffles and care home visits, colleagues from across the Society came together to make a meaningful difference during the festive period.
Among their fundraising achievements the West Brom’s branches raised more than £3,000 for Hope House Children’s Hospices, combining raffle proceeds and matched funding. The total was boosted by the Hospices’ match funding, doubling the impact of colleagues’ efforts.

The team also rallied behind the Jamia Food Bank, raising over £800 throughout the year. The funds will help support families across the region during the winter months, alongside generous donations of food and household essentials to the food bank.
Supporting children at Christmas was a strong theme across the Society. Colleagues donated gifts and festive treats to Sandwell Children’s Hospital, ensuring young patients had something special to open over the Christmas period, raising £222 to purchase 32 presents.

Branches also supported local food banks in Bromsgrove, Northfield, Blackheath and Tipton, organised Christmas hampers for care home residents and delivered seasonal entertainment.
Elsewhere across the Society, teams supported Leslie’s care packages for a 5th consecutive year, helping those in need at Christmas within the Black country, gifting 168 presents to help those who wouldn’t otherwise receive any gifts.

Heather Hazley, Head of Distribution at West Brom Building Society, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the compassion and commitment shown by our branch teams this Christmas. Whether fundraising, donating gifts or giving up their time to support others, colleagues have gone above and beyond to help their local communities at a time when support really matters. These initiatives reflect our values as a mutual and our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference where we live and work.”
