Rebecca Powell, who joined St Giles earlier this year, and is now Head of Clinical Operations, said the £5,000 top prize for just £1 per ticket gives people the chance to win while supporting local families facing the most difficult time of their lives.

She said: "The team talk about what a privilege it is to work at the hospice during Christmas time. They go above and beyond to decorate rooms, organise celebrations, and arrange for families to share a Christmas lunch together, creating cherished memories during what can be a very difficult time.

"While the festive period can be a challenging time for patients, with many wondering if it will be their last Christmas, the team strive to make it as special and memorable as possible.

"The teams across the hospice are not just providing vital medical care, they are helping patients, and their loved ones, feel comfortable and cared for."

The hospice's Winter Raffle offers £8,000 worth of prizes in total, with a top prize of £5,000, plus significant second and third prizes. Tickets are just £1 each and help fund vital care for local people living with terminal illnesses.

Rebecca added: "It is an incredible privilege to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team. Every day, I see how much community support matters to our patients and their families."

The raffle closes on 14th January, with the draw taking place on 28th January.

Elinor Eustace, CEO of St Giles Hospice, said: "Every penny raised through our Winter Raffle helps us continue providing specialist end of life care to local people when they need it most. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who enters and supports our work."

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity offering specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, for people living with terminal illnesses across Staffordshire, North Birmingham and surrounding areas.

With less than a quarter of funds provided by the Government, the hospice relies heavily on donations and income generation from the local community to continue providing vital care.
