The Walsall FC Foundation welcomed an international delegation from the humanitarian NGO We Care for Humanity on Friday, 5 December 2025, marking the beginning of a promising dialogue focused on global partnership, community development and international investment in the region.
The delegation was headed by philanthropist and Founder of We Care for Humanity, Maha Putri Maria Amor Leonora Torres Mastura, of the Sultanate of Maguindanao, and was warmly received by Paul Larvin, Senior Operations Manager at the Walsall FC Foundation.
Building International Partnerships Through Sport

The meeting focused on shared values and forward-looking plans for 2026, including discussions around a charity football match, large-scale fundraising activities, and the potential involvement of international patrons and supporters to amplify the reach and impact of the Foundation’s work.
Members of the We Care for Humanity delegation expressed strong admiration for the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives and its role in empowering young people, families and vulnerable groups through sport, education and community engagement. As a result, early conversations also explored broader investment opportunities that could benefit Walsall and the wider West Midlands, building on the Foundation’s existing programmes and infrastructure.

A Symbol of Friendship and Shared Purpose
During the visit, the Walsall FC Foundation presented We Care for Humanity with a signed Walsall FC emblem and official club merchandise, symbolising goodwill, mutual respect and the foundations of a developing international partnership.

Representatives from both organisations noted that closer cooperation would not only enhance the work already being delivered by the Walsall FC Foundation, but also enable new initiatives with a wider international reach—bringing fresh opportunities, resources and visibility to local programmes.
Looking Ahead

This potential collaboration reflects a growing trend of sport-led humanitarian partnerships, where football acts as a universal language for social change. By combining the local expertise and trusted community presence of the Walsall FC Foundation with the global networks and humanitarian experience of We Care for Humanity, both organisations aim to create sustainable, high-impact projects that serve communities locally while attracting international engagement.

Further discussions are expected to continue into the new year as both parties work towards formalising aspects of their cooperation.
