Midlands opticians turning rave reviews into homelessness support

Customers at two local opticians have helped raise vital funds for Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP), thanks to a simple act that makes a big difference - completing a short feedback survey on their in-store experience.

The locally owned and run sister Specsavers stores in Dudley and Blackheath have together raised £258 for the charity, which provides free eye examinations and glasses to people affected by homelessness across the UK. For every customer service survey completed, Specsavers donates directly to VCHP, helping ensure more people can access the essential eye care they need.

Gurdeep Dosanjh, store director at Specsavers Dudley and Blackheath, says: "We’re incredibly grateful to our customers for taking the time to complete the surveys. It might seem like a small action, but it has a real impact. VCHP does extraordinary work supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community, and we’re proud that our stores, and our customers, can play a part in helping them continue to provide that vital service."

VCHP works to remove the barriers that prevent people affected by homelessness from accessing routine eye care by providing free, safe and welcoming clinics across the country. These clinics support thousands of people each year, ensuring that sight problems do not become yet another obstacle in their daily lives.
