Walton Homes shortlisted for 2026 West Midlands Business of the Year awards

The nominations recognise the Lichfield-based company’s longstanding commitment to high-quality homebuilding, continued community investment and sustainable development across the region.

The awards, organised by thebusinessdesk.com, celebrate the most innovative and impactful businesses from right across the West Midlands. Walton Homes has been recognised for its strong and consistent performance as a family-run housebuilder, now in its third generation, as well as its focus on high-quality workmanship, customer experience, sustainability, and local placemaking.

Operating in the region for more than 40 years, and calling Lichfield its home for the last 20, Walton Homes employs 34 staff and operates six active developments across Staffordshire, Warwickshire and the wider Midlands. The company currently has 56 new homes either under construction or build-complete, with future developments in the pipeline to help address local housing demand.

Over the past 12 months, Walton Homes has also taken significant steps to reduce its environmental impact, including investing in a state-of-the-art pallet shredder that has generated more than 150 tonnes of reusable woodchip, all donated or repurposed across its developments. The business is further trialling enhanced energy-efficiency features at its Woodwinds development ahead of upcoming building regulation changes.

The shortlisting also reflects Walton Homes’ ongoing support for local communities, with recent sponsorships and donations to groups including Checkley Cricket Club, Armitage & Handsacre Scout Group, Marchington Village Festival, and Kids Village, the company’s Charity of the Year.
