St Giles Hospice brings back Christmas tree collection for 2026
Take the stress out of the post-Christmas clean-up this January as St Giles Hospice holds its annual TreeCycle – the feel-good way to ‘spruce’ up your New Year by supporting your local hospice.
TreeCycle is a quick and easy way to recycle your real Christmas tree, with hundreds of households choosing TreeCycle each year not just for the convenience, but because it’s an easy way to support St Giles and make a real difference to those living with a terminal illness.
Last year, the hospice’s team of volunteers collected over 5000 Christmas trees, which raised an incredible £100,000 – proving that every tree really can make a difference.
St Giles Hospice will be collecting trees from Friday 9 – Monday 12 January 2026. You can book your collection anytime until Monday 5 January 2026, in return for a suggested donation of £15-20.
The team will be collecting trees from the following areas: Aldridge (WS9), Ashby-de-la-Zouch (LE65), Atherstone (CV9), Birmingham (B43, B44), Brownhills (WS8), Burntwood (WS7), Burton Upon Trent (DE13, DE14, DE15, DE65), Cannock (WS11, WS12), Lichfield (WS13, WS14), Measham (DE12), Rugeley (WS15), Stafford (ST16, ST17, ST18), Stone (ST15), Sutton Coldfield (B72, B73, B74, B75, B76), Swadlincote (DE11), Tamworth (B77, B78, B79), Uttoxeter (ST14), Walsall (WS1, WS2, WS3, WS4, WS5, WS6), Wednesbury (WS10).

All trees will be recycled responsibly at Greener Composting Lichfield, where they will go on to be used for agricultural purposes – proving your Christmas tree can still be useful even after the decorations come down and the baubles are boxed away.
Sam Colclough, Senior Events Officer at St Giles Hospice, said: “We are really excited to bring back our Christmas tree collection for 2026.
“Let your Christmas tree do one last good deed before it heads out the door. It’s hassle-free, eco-friendly, and a brilliant way to start the New Year while helping raise vital funds for local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness.”
Sam added: “This event brings out the very best of community spirit, and we’re so grateful for everyone who gets involved – those who donate to have their tree collected, and our incredible army of volunteers. We really couldn’t do this without them.
“We’d also like to thank our wonderful team of sponsors, who help make TreeCycle possible each year – with special thanks to our headline sponsor Marfleet Facilities.”
