School spreads festive spirit with Christmas singalong
A Birmingham school has embodied the festive spirit last week as learners, families and staff gathered for a joyful Christmas singalong.
The event, organised by teacher Laura Larkin alongside her English department colleagues, brought the community together to celebrate the season through music and reflection.
The evening featured a beautiful mix of traditional carols, Christmas Bible verses, and popular festive hits, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness. Families joined learners in singing along, making it a truly inclusive celebration.

Year 7 learner Dennie, who attended with her family, shared: Miss Larkin reflected on the success of the event: “We wanted to create something that celebrated tradition while bringing people together in a fun and meaningful way. Seeing learners and families enjoying the music was wonderful.”
Principal of Cockshut Hill School, Jody Clarke, added: “Events like this show the strength of our school community. It was fantastic to see so many families come together to share in the festive spirit.”
