Santa trail raises hundreds supporting community

The Saleem Foundation, in partnership with the Wall Heath TSF Kuppa Club and The Wall Heath Tavern, organised the Jingle the Wall Heath way Santa trail held on Saturday.

The Wall Heath Kuppa club meet every second and fourth Friday of the month, 9.15am at the Wall Heath Tavern. The group was founded by High Sheriff Award winner Shaz Saleem in 2021 to bring people out of isolation and is run by community champion Michelle Stokes. 

The Jingle the Wall Heath Way event was hailed as a huge success, with Grandpa's Sweet Shop hosting a special golden ticket competition which was won by five lucky winners. The Village Bakery Wall Heath hosted some delicious treats showing Wall Heath leads the way when it comes to fun. Church of the Ascension, Wall Heath held a special Christmas Market that included a beautiful choir.

Cassie Gray, event organiser said: "Hundreds attended the whole event which was amazing. It was truly a community event that included the Wall Heath Community Centre hosting an epic Santa Grotto.

"The event was supported by Matthew Williams, Nick Gray from Nick Gray Building Services (our brilliant Santa's!), Wall Heath Tennis Club, Mother Sarah Roberts- Malpas, Linda Hickman, and Wall Heath businesses."

Michelle Stokes said: " The event raised money to support the local community with over £500 raised and donated to the Church of the Ascension, Wall Heath Community centre, and to The Saleem Foundation TSF Kuppa Club."

Shaz Saleem said: "I'm honestly overwhelmed with the incredible support; the village was buzzing, everyone was smiling, its memories like these that are priceless and will live forever. I would like to say a huge thank you to my amazing, community driven team.

"Huge thank you to BRSK for sponsoring our event.

"Special thank you to Andy and The Wall Heath Village People group for donating the Santa Chimney Stack. They are an amazing group and their generosity is greatly appreciated."

The Saleem Foundation now plans to host the event annually with next year set to take place on December 12, 2026.
