Leading new homes provider Bromford has collaborated with five-star housebuilder Barratt Redrow to deliver 24 Shared Ownership homes in Curborough, just over two miles from the historic city’s centre.

Set against the idyllic Staffordshire countryside, these new homes provide first-time buyers, families, downsizers, commuters and more the chance to secure a home without a large deposit, as this is calculated against the purchased share rather than the full market value.

Residents pay a mortgage on that share, with rent on the remainder, with the opportunity to increase that owned share all the way up to full homeownership, reducing rental payments along the way.

The partnership will see one, two, and three-bedroom homes available, the first of which will be ready to move into early next year.

Karen Adams, Sales Manager at Bromford, said: “Our partnership with Barratt Redrow will enable our shared owners to put down roots in the knowledge that their home has been built to the highest standard, with great attention to detail and an expert finish.

“Curborough Lakes is in a great spot – just north of Lichfield, within the Staffordshire countryside, all with easy access to further afield locations for commuting and family days out.

“We’re looking forward to releasing the first Shared Ownership homes, and once more empowering many who thought the property ladder was out of reach to make their homeownership dreams a reality.”

Barratt Redrow is made up of Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Redrow. Barratt and David Wilson Homes are delivering a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties at Curborough Fields, whilst Redrow is building a variety of two- to five-bedroom homes at Curborough Lakes.

Steve Marriner, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt Redrow, said: “Home buyers settling down in this thriving new community will benefit from a range of key amenities on their doorstep. The homes in Curborough will offer modern, energy-efficient living, bringing together the best of rural charm and urban convenience.

“Our partnership with Bromford assures property seekers using Shared Ownership can enjoy a seamless transition into a brand-new home.”

The area is well served by esteemed schools nearby, including the Charnwood Primary Academy, rated Good in its most recent Ofsted report, as well as the Nether Stowe School for pupils aged 11-18 and the Rocklands School which welcomes children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

Curborough Lakes also sits close to a number of rural organisations, including a countryside centre, garden centre and equestrian centre, while Lichfield itself is home to culturally significant buildings including its famous cathedral, and a number of places for food and drink.
