Selecting Kids’ Village as its official Charity of the Year at the start of 2025, Walton Homes pledged to £200 for every open market home. At the end of October, Walton Homes made its first donation to the charity, handing over a cheque for £3,200.

It was a significant moment for the family-run business, which has a long tradition of supporting charities across Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

Kids' Village is on a mission to provide much-needed breaks and moments of joy for families who are facing some of life's toughest challenges. Based on a beautiful site in the heart of the UK, upon completion Kids’ Village will be the first purpose-built holiday village for sick children and their families to enjoy.

The donation will play a pivotal role in the continued development of the village, situated near Lichfield, which, upon completion, will comprise 10 four-bedroomed lodges and a central facility, Charlotte’s Den, for communal activities.

In addition to the financial contribution, Walton Homes has also donated a house-worth of furniture to the development, helping the charity create functional yet stylish holiday spaces for beneficiaries.

Amy Summerton, Director at Walton Homes, commented: “As a business based in Lichfield and with developments across the Midlands, we wanted to find a regional charity partner that could help us give something back to our local community.

“Kids’ Village is the perfect charity partner for us; a local endeavour seeking to make a real positive difference for young people and their families facing the most challenging of times.

“We are absolutely delighted to have made our first donation to the cause and can’t wait to continue to see how the build is progressing!”

Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids' Village, added: “Having Walton Homes as our charity partner for 2025 is making a real difference to our ambitions for the project, and the recent donation will play an important role in helping us reach the next phase of the development.

“Every donation counts and with it, we’re one step closer to completing a truly one-of-a-kind holiday village where families can get some much-needed respite and make magical memories together.”
