Primary school welcomes families for special shared-reading event
Erdington Hall Primary School, part of the Summit Learning Trust, was delighted to welcome parents and carers into school this term for a special shared reading event designed to celebrate the joy of reading and strengthen home and school partnerships.
Families joined pupils in their classrooms to enjoy books together and take part in a range of storytelling activities. Children proudly read aloud to their adults while staff brought stories to life through engaging readings. Light refreshments helped create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where families could spend quality time together.

The event reflected the school’s ongoing commitment to encouraging a love of reading and recognising the vital role families play in supporting their children’s literacy development. Erdington Hall Primary School looks forward to hosting further reading events throughout the year as part of its continued focus on literacy and community engagement.
Jenni Downes, Principal at Erdington Hall Primary School said: “We were thrilled to see such a wonderful turnout for this event. Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and events like this help build confidence, enthusiasm and a shared enjoyment of books.”
