Midlands mum launches groundbreaking animated series aimed at supporting children’s mental health
Birmingham mother of two, Lucy Cole, is on a mission to revolutionise mental health support for children through her innovative animated and book series, "Faythe & The Fearstone." This project is designed to resonate with children aged 7-11, offering them relatable role models and essential coping strategies for navigating emotional challenges.
In an era where social media heavily influences the lives of young people, Lucy has taken a proactive stance in addressing the mental health challenges faced by today’s adolescents. Through regular visits to schools, she engages with teenagers grappling with anxiety, low self-esteem and body-image concerns, issues that have become increasingly common in the modern challenges of adolescence.
“Today’s children face tremendous pressures from various aspects of their lives, from school, home, friendships and often made worse by the unrealistic standards portrayed online,” Lucy shares.
“Through the adventures of Faythe and her friends in Doomland, we aim to show young people they are not alone in their struggles. Our characters help them identify and manage their fears, build resilience and develop vital coping skills.”

"Faythe & The Fearstone" blends engaging storytelling, comedy and adventure with mindfulness techniques using NLP/CBT. Lucy, the series' creator, is also the founder of Love Life Coaching and an award winning Grief/Trauma Coach bringing deep knowledge and professional expertise to the project.
Her vision extends beyond entertainment; she aims to integrate well-being workshops into school curricula, empowering educators to recognise and address mental health issues early on. “We want to foster a culture of openness and support,” she emphasises, “equipping children with the tools they need to thrive emotionally.”
Inspired by her daughters' experiences, Lucy created "Faythe & The Fearstone" to bridge the gap between animated princesses and live-action teens. “Our characters are relatable and imperfect, illustrating how we can support each other through life’s challenges,” she explains.

To bring her vision to life, Lucy has launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of raising £50,000. This funding will support the development of a full film script, a four-minute teaser, and the further evolution of the series’ inspiring characters. “By instilling positive thoughts and practical techniques from an early age, we hope to empower children to conquer their fears and realise their full potential,” Lucy adds.
The Kickstarter campaign is now live, and supporters can make a difference by contributing at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/faythe/faythe-and-the-fearstone. These funds will advance the series, support pitches to networks and festival entries and develop school resources.
