Access Creative College Birmingham announces ‘A Gift of Song - A Charity Christmas Concert’
Access Creative College Birmingham has confirmed details of a very special charity event, ‘A Gift of Song - A Christmas Charity Event’ focussed on raising funds and food donations for local families and children in need this Christmas time.
Taking place tomorrow (December 9) at the iconic St Martin’s Church, Birmingham, ‘A Gift of Song’ will combine live music, community and giving for an unforgettable night filled with heartwarming festive spirit. All profits and donations will support local charities helping families and individuals in need during the Christmas season. Guests are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food or toiletry items for our community food bank appeal.
Leading the evening’s festivities will be Birmingham’s own musician, composer and producer Ashley Allen & band, known for his recent performance "The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin" at Symphony Hall. Speaking about the importance of the event, Ashley said: “I'm really looking forward to this amazing event. This event is bringing together some incredible musicians from Access Creative College, as well as some really talented professional musicians. I believe it's an opportunity to truly bring the Spirit of Christmas, which is a family-oriented event, and also to share some incredible Christmas classics—music that warms people's hearts during this wonderful time of year.
"You can be certain to expect some amazing arrangements and classics performed in the way you know them. It truly is an event not to be missed. I will see you there.”

Ashley will be joined by some of Access Creative College Birmingham’s own Vocal Artist students; a range of 16-18 year olds currently benefiting from the college’s vital, public education dedicated to encouraging a new generation of music industry professionals and opening the doors to those who struggle with traditional education or come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Speaking on the importance of ‘The Gift of Song’, Christina Hoskins, lead organiser and Vocal Artist and Music Performance Course Leader at Access Creative College, Birmingham said: “The Gift of Song reflects the spirit of Birmingham - compassionate, creative, and community led. We are proud to host an event that celebrates local talent while raising essential support for Birmingham Christmas Shelter during the winter period.”

This is more than just a concert, it’s a chance for our community to come together and support those who need it most this Christmas. We believe music should bring warmth, connection, and hope, and we’re proud to stand with Birmingham Christmas Shelter to make a real difference.
We’re bringing together our students, local musicians, and the wider Birmingham community to share the power of music for a meaningful cause. It’s a privilege to see our young artists perform not just for a stage, but for a purpose.
Tickets for ‘A Gift of Song’ are available now. Standard tickets are £15 with concessions for families, students and OAPs. For those unable to attend, donations are also open now - for more information see here.
