Wolverhampton-based care home gets into the festive spirit with handmade Christmas crafts
Residents of a Wolverhampton-based care home have been getting ready for Christmas with a Christmas craft session led by the home’s arts and crafts club.
Everyone at Wulfrun Rose, located in Wolverhampton, came together to create origami Christmas trees, decorated with colourful stickers and glitter, each one reflecting the residents' individual creative flair. The handcrafted decorations will now be part of the home's wider Christmas decorations, adding a personal touch.
Residents enjoyed reminiscing over past Christmas traditions as they decorated their trees, sharing stories of family festivities and seasonal songs from their younger years.
The arts and crafts club is a regular highlight in the home’s activities calendar and plays an important role in encouraging dexterity, motor and cognitive skills. The activity is part of Wulfrun Rose’s ongoing commitment to providing meaningful and engaging experiences that support wellbeing and connection
Bhav Amlani, Director of Macc Care Group, which operates 17 homes across the Midlands, said: “Our homes are all about creating moments of joy, connection and celebration. Simple activities like these can have such a profound impact – not just by filling our spaces with festive cheer, but by reminding residents of treasured memories and providing a real sense of achievement.”
Macc Care homes have lots more seasonal activities planned in the run up to Christmas, with baking, card making and more decoration making. As well as this, on Monday, December 8 the residents of Wulfrun Rose will be joined by the children of Berrybrook school for a Breakfast with Santa.
