Faye has undergone numerous intensive treatments, hospital admissions, infections, chemotherapy, back to back surgery to replace her femur, hip and bone all in the same leg, rehab, continuous pain, her mental health challenged to the wire - to name only a few - and has done this whilst we have all watched in absolute admiration and awe at the fight she has continuously fought this year and the want to continuously smash through boundaries that this year has challenged her with.

Anyone who knows Faye knows she is the fittest person in our friendship group a friendship group who has been friends all of our lives.

Faye and Nick have been childhood sweethearts since school, they grew up together as best friends and then when nick began his career in the British army Faye followed without question. They married in 2012 and have been the ultimate definition of solidarity in a world that hasn’t always been so certain.

Our friendship group has been through highs, lows and everything in between but something that has never changed is no matter where we all are in the world we have always been there for each other. Because that’s all we know.

We knew we needed to do something to show our love dedication and togetherness and hope to even slightly mirror Faye’s determination that she has shown this past year.

6peaksin6weeks was born.

Rachel, the original mountain lover of the gang challenged myself and another member of the group who had zero experience of climbing mountains. Zero. She asked us if it was something that we would be up for in the hope to give something small back to Faye and Nick, raise awareness, funds and bring everyone together. Without any doubt we were on board.

Rachael planned, scheduled and organised all of us to make sure we ‘pulled this off’ and has done it with nothing but class. We are now four weeks into the six peaks and have two mountains left to go.

Around treatment we hope that Faye will be joining us at the bottom of the last mountain.

So the story that we are trying to share is about raising awareness, strength, friendship, love, solidarity. in the hope that this resonates with someone to help them on their own journey.
