Rotary club steps up festive support with Christmas sleigh across Cannock

The Rotary Club of Cannock is preparing for a very busy Christmas this year.

The club is only too aware of the ever-increasing financial demands of families in December, so they are taking their Christmas Sleigh to a number of local events and supermarkets across the local region.

As well as raising much needed funds to help local charities member are planning to bring some Christmas cheer to the local children and their families.

Children are welcome to come along and meet Santa bring their letters, take a photograph and to tell Santa what they want for Christmas at no cost other than a small donation to the Rotary Christmas collection appear.

If you would like to meet Santa and his helpers, he will be at Tesco Heath Hayes on December 14 to 18 or at Tesco Hednesford on December 19, 22 and 23, and Asda Cannock on December 20 and 22.

The club is also planning visits to a number of local care homes in the lead up to Christmas.

Following last year’s collections donations totalling more than £6000 were made to local charities and good causes namely, Katharine House and St Giles hospices, Child of Mine, Hunting Kickboxing Clue, Seasons Theatre Company, The Park Road Advice Centre, Pathway woman’s refuge Pye Green foodbank, Stafford and Cannock League of Hospital Friends, First Responders.

So, if you wish to support our local community come along to any of the venues and meet Santa and his team of helpers and friends and maybe find out a little more about what Rotary does to support those in need across the world.
