The speaker for November was Kevin Reynolds, who gave a very interesting and amusing talk on the flora, fauna and birdlife associated with Christmas celebrations. Holly was placed around doors and windows to ward off evil spirits and is also a symbol of fertility and eternal life, a lot of Christmas traditions are based on pagan traditions before Christianity became the religion of the United Kingdom.

Speaker’s secretary Lynne Moseley gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the club members.

If you would like to join us for lunch as a guest with a view to membership please contact Chairman Pat Stanley on 01543 423750 or Secretary Liz Stephenson on 01543 426386.
