Stafford Pets & Aquatics marks 7 years on the High Street
Stafford Pets & Aquatics is proud to celebrate its 7th anniversary this November - a milestone that reflects the determination, resilience, and community support that has kept the independent business alive through some of the toughest years the high street has ever faced.
Since opening in 2018, the store has navigated a series of unprecedented obstacles. From the impact of Covid-19, to the ongoing energy and cost-of-living crisis, running an independent pet shop has required constant adaptation and resilience. In late 2024, Stafford Pets & Aquatics faced its most serious threat yet, when a clerical error left the business without a valid pet shop licence during the crucial run up to Christmas - a situation that almost forced its closure despite no fault of the store. Thanks to the persistence of the team, loyal customer support, and swift resolution with the licensing authority, the business was able to overcome the setback and continue trading.
“Independent shops have had to fight harder than ever to stay open,” said Store Manager Charley Pearson. “We’ve weathered things we never imagined we’d have to face, but we’re still here, and we’re still doing everything we can to adapt, improve, and offer something special for the people of Stafford.”
To mark the store’s 7th birthday, and to thank customers for their continued support, they have launched a full shop Birthday & Black Friday Sale.
“These sales are our way of giving back to the community that has kept us going,” Charley added. “Every purchase from a small business makes a huge difference. We want to celebrate how far we’ve come and show that we’re still committed to bringing the best quality animals, products, and advice to Stafford.”
Stafford Pets & Aquatics is located next door to Home Bargains on Hunters Row, Stafford, and welcomes families, hobbyists, and pet lovers of all experience levels.
