Charity hosts a magical Christmas celebration at Delph Stables

Located on the historic Dudley Canal, this free family event is taking place on Saturday, December 13, from 4.30pm, with Santa and Mrs Claus spreading Christmas cheer to everyone that comes along.

Set in the Grade II listed stables beside the canal and supported by colleagues and volunteers from Canal & River Trust, this joyful event promises an evening filled with festive fun, heart-warming activities, and the true spirit of Christmas.

As the lights twinkle and songs fill the air, guests will be welcomed by Santa and Mrs Claus, bringing magic, stories, and Christmas joy to visitors of all ages. Throughout the evening, the atmosphere will be brought to life with favourite Christmas songs and traditional carols, performed for free by Albion Street Church and Brierley Hill Theatre Group, with everyone invited to sing along.

Families can enjoy seasonal craft-making, where children and adults alike can create their own Christmas keepsakes to take home – a perfect way to capture the spirit of the season.

To keep everyone cosy, tea, coffee, and biscuits will be offered free of charge, generously provided by provided by Glass House College, part of Ruskin Mill Trust.

Gemma Coley, from Canal & River Trust, said: “There’s nothing quite like the magic of Christmas by the canal. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Delph Stables for an evening of festive fun, community spirit, and a little touch of holiday sparkle! Everyone is welcome.

“While the event is free to attend, we always welcome donations to keep the magic of the canals alive throughout the year.”
