NSCG Curriculum Leader in Foundation Art, Design and Media Practice, Ed Jeavons, is showcasing his latest work in an exhibition, Layers of Stone, at the Stone Heritage Centre.
As part of the exhibition, Ed led a series of workshops for students from Stafford College, Weston Road Academy, Blessed William Howard, Walton High School, St Dominic’s Priory and Alleyne’s Academy. The workshops explored the theme of ‘Layers of Stone’ through monoprinting, casting, frottage, collage and mixed-media drawing, encouraging students to respond to Stone’s heritage and geological textures while experimenting with layering, creative risk-taking and new artistic approaches.
Throughout the sessions, students developed and refined their ideas, creating unique pieces that reflect both the local landscape and their own creativity. The resulting works will be displayed alongside Ed’s paintings in the exhibition, highlighting the talent of young people across the region and celebrating Stone’s cultural and physical landscape.
Layers of Stone runs from 10–20 December 2025, with a Private View on Wednesday 10 December, 6–8pm.
Ed Jeavons said: “I was delighted by the level of engagement and creativity shown by students from all of the schools and colleges that took part in the workshops, and I am excited to see what the exhibition will look like.”
