MB Motors celebrates exceptional start at new Rugeley super-workshop and raises £555 for St Giles Hospice
Rugeley’s fastest-growing independent garage, MB Motors, is celebrating a remarkable start at its newly opened 10-bay super-workshop after raising £555 for St Giles Hospice and attracting unprecedented customer demand since its launch. The business has quickly established itself as one of Staffordshire’s leading modern automotive centres, with drivers travelling from across the region to experience its state-of-the-art facilities.
MB Motors, located at Trent Business Park, unveiled its purpose-built workshop at a community launch event that brought together families, local trades, car enthusiasts and long-standing customers. With interactive motorsport simulators, prize raffles, refreshments and guided tours, the opening served as both a celebration of the garage’s growth and an opportunity to give back — ultimately raising £555 for St Giles Hospice, an organisation close to the hearts of many in the community.
The donation was made up of public contributions on the day, with MB Motors matching the amount to help strengthen the hospice’s work across Staffordshire. Representatives from St Giles have praised the team for highlighting the charity’s vital role and for using their launch to promote community spirit.
Since opening the doors to its new site, MB Motors has seen rapid growth. The workshop — which features dedicated electric and hybrid bays, a fully equipped MOT lane, ADAS calibration technology, specialist diagnostics equipment, and a premium glass-fronted customer lounge — has already welcomed record-breaking numbers of motorists.

Managing Director Michael Ballard said the response from the public has far exceeded expectations.
“We knew the new facility would make a difference, but the reaction has been incredible,” he said. “We’ve had new customers visiting daily, fleets enquiring about long-term partnerships, and regulars telling us how proud they are to see a local business investing in something of this scale. On top of that, being able to raise funds for St Giles Hospice has made the opening even more meaningful.”
The expansion has allowed MB Motors to increase the range of services it offers, including high-level EV diagnostics, dealer-level software, performance upgrades and comprehensive vehicle health checks. The workshop’s striking, modern design — complete with full-glass viewing areas and a premium waiting environment — has been widely praised by visitors and featured heavily in the photos submitted alongside this story.

Customers have commented on the transparency the layout provides, allowing them to watch their vehicle being worked on from the comfort of the lounge — an approach that aligns with MB Motors’ commitment to honesty, clarity and customer confidence.
Staff numbers have also grown, with new technicians and customer service personnel joining the team to meet rising demand. The business has confirmed plans to develop apprenticeships, support young people entering the trade, and collaborate with local schools and organisations over the coming year.
Mr Ballard added: “We built this facility with the long-term future of the town in mind. We want MB Motors to be a place that creates skilled jobs, supports local families, and becomes a reliable cornerstone of the community. The success so far shows that Rugeley is ready for a modern, high-quality independent garage — and we’re proud to be leading that change.”
With the new site already attracting attention from across Cannock, Lichfield, Stafford and the wider Midlands, MB Motors is set to continue its rapid upward trajectory. The team says future plans include more community fundraisers, charity initiatives, and continued investment in new technology.
