The award was presented at the Birmingham-based family firm’s Managers Conference, where Theresa was recognised for her exceptional journey from a 17-year-old receptionist to a highly respected and experienced regional manager who leads by example and has consistently driven positive change across the business.

Theresa, who lives in Wolverhampton and oversees the Midlands region, joined Scrivens in September 1984 as a receptionist at Scrivens’ Wolverhampton branch. Over four decades, she has progressed through virtually every role within the organisation, including senior receptionist, in-store lab technician, branch manager and regional manager's assistant, before being promoted to regional manager in 2013.

Presenting the award, Nicholas Georgevic, chairman of Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, said: “Theresa is a beacon of professionalism, hard work and commitment – she is a true leader who takes on responsibility with relish and great humour. She is a worthy recipient of the Sasha Georgevic Award and we have been very lucky to have her as a colleague and part of the Scrivens family for so many years.”

The Sasha Georgevic Award was established in 2004 in memory of the company's late chairman, Sasha Georgevic. It is Scrivens' highest honour, recognising exceptional contribution to both the profession and the business.

Theresa added: "I am truly honoured to receive this award. It is especially meaningful because the nominations come from colleagues. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every single year working for Scrivens. It has been a constant in my life, from my time as a teenager to a young mum, and now into my later years."

Today, Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care remains a family-owned business that has been providing community-based eye and hearing care services across the UK for over 85 years. It has over 1,000 employees across its 166 high-street stores in towns and cities across England and Wales.
