South Staffordshire hairdressers turns heads with five national award wins

Fierce Hairdressing, based in Wombourne, has been crowned Best Salon, Best Customer Experience, Bridal Stylist of the Year – Tammy Mallett, Apprentice of the Year – Rubie Fletcher and Men’s Stylist of the Year – Donna Bishop, at this year’s Salon Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester on November 1.

Owner and founder Tammy Mallett and her talented team were recognised by the judges for their exceptional skill and dedication, solidifying their reputation as one of the best salons in the region.

With over 23 years of experience, Tammy opened Fierce Hairdressing in 2016. Her inspiring journey from apprentice to award-winning salon owner is one of passion and fierce determination. Tammy began her career at just 14 years old as a Saturday girl and honed her skills through an apprenticeship at Royston Blythe where she progressed to senior stylist. 

Tammy expressed her excitement: “We are delighted to receive this recognition. They reflect the hard work and commitment of the entire team who are passionate about their craft and proving the best customer experience and service possible to all our clients.”

The Salon Awards, founded by Kate Jeffery and hosted by Sophia Hilton with headline sponsorship from Revlon Professional, celebrates outstanding talent and industry excellence showcasing the accomplishments of top salons and stylists from across the country.

Fierce Hairdressing, located in the heart of Wombourne village, is a boutique colour specialist salon offering luxury hairdressing services. Known for its professional, personalised experience, the salon’s welcoming atmosphere ensures that clients leave feeling pampered and glamorous.

Fierce Hairdressing is also a finalist at Black Country Apprenticeship Awards 2025 taking place on November 20 at the Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill in the Dudley borough. The awards are organised by the Express & Star in conjunction with the Ladder Apprenticeship Foundation to celebrate outstanding individuals, training providers and businesses shaping the region’s thriving apprenticeship community.
