SSAFA – the Armed Forces Charity – held a bucket collection at the Wonder Wolves concert in September, raising £19.40. Meanwhile, Bilston and Willenhall Lions Club organised a collection during the Diwali celebrations at Phoenix Park in October, raising £125.

Both donations have been added to the Mayor of Wolverhampton’s Charitable Fund, which will be shared between the Mayor’s chosen charities at the end of this Mayoral year. These charities are Compton Care, Acorns Children’s Hospice, SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, and the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.

"Every penny raised makes a real difference to the incredible charities we are working with this year. These organisations provide vital care and support to people across Wolverhampton, and I’m proud to see our city come together to help them.”
